We wanted a place that would continue nurturing his development in these formative years, with small class sizes and a warm, engaging environment. CCRP was the perfect fit.
His class had only 11 students, which meant he received plenty of personalized attention and direction from fantastic teachers. Every teacher and staff member we encountered was genuinely caring, supportive, and kind. The curriculum was strong, and under his teacher’s guidance, my son grew tremendously both academically and socially during the year.
Mid-Bronx CCRP regularly organizes ambitious events during the school year that involve the entire student body, families, and staff. Every child I saw there seemed to be having a great time, and the joy was truly infectious. Parents were also actively involved, creating a sense of community that felt like an extended family.
We are so glad we chose Mid-Bronx CCRP for our son, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to any family considering it for their child.

My family and I are proud products of Mid-Bronx CCRP Head Start. All three of my children — my two daughters and my son — started their educational journey here, and the foundation they received was exceptional. Because of the nurturing environment and high standards at Mid-Bronx CCRP, they entered elementary school as strong students who were confident, well-behaved, and eager to learn.
As a parent, DAPC gave me a voice and a seat at the table. Serving as Delegate Agency Policy Council Vice President for two terms and then as President taught me how to advocate — not just for my own children but for every child and family in our program. That leadership journey led me to represent Mid-Bronx CCRP at the NYC DOE Head Start Citywide Policy Council, where I served as a representative member and treasurer in 2025.
What makes Mid-Bronx CCRP special is the people. The teachers are incredibly patient, friendly, and intentional. They don’t just teach ABCs and 123s, they shape character, build confidence, and meet each child where they are. That partnership between staff and families played a considerable role in shaping my children’s education and gave them the strong foundation they needed.
My involvement through DAPC impacted other parents too. I was able to help families understand their rights, get connected to resources, and see that parent engagement truly strengthens the program. Together, we helped make Head Start a cornerstone for the Bronx community.

Hello, my name is Elizabeth, and I had the pleasure of having my daughter, Thaisa Garcia, attend this school starting at the age of three. On the first day—as any mother would be—I was nervous; however, to my surprise, my daughter felt completely at home and comfortable with her teacher, Ms. Cruz. She didn’t cry or withdraw; on the contrary, she was happy.
She experienced incredible academic growth, learning many new things—numbers, letters, how to follow directions and rules, and how to socialize with other children. Every day she learned a little more, and she absolutely loved going to school; she talked about her teacher constantly.
She felt wonderful there, and as a mother, that gave me great peace of mind. We know that when a child is happy and eager to return every day, it is because they are being treated with love, patience, and respect. Based on my experience, I have nothing but positive and good things to say about the school—the teachers and the staff alike. It is an incredible institution for children’s learning.
Today, my daughter is seven years old, and she still talks about Ms. Cruz and how well she treated her; she says Ms. Cruz is one of her favorite teachers
