ABOUT US

Revitalizing the community one child at a time

Mid-Bronx Comprehensive Community Revitalization Program (CCRP) Early Childhood Center (ECC) is a trusted NYCEEC early childhood education provider dedicated to high-quality learning and family support services for young children (ages two to five) across the Bronx.

For more than 30 years, we have been a trusted community resource, celebrated and sought after for our intentional inclusiveness, educational excellence, and commitment to family support – all of which are essential to community revitalization.

Our school reflects the rich diversity of the Bronx, with students, teachers, and staff representing a variety of cultures, languages, and backgrounds. This diversity facilitates our mission and, in the process, opens doors to success for children and families through equity, representation, and authentic community connection.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

It takes a village to raise a child

“Oran a azu nwa” — African proverb from Igbo, Nigeria.

Guided by the African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child,” we believe that when a village engages with intention, a child’s future expands with assurance and opportunity!

Our approach centers around building strong, trusting relationships between families, educators, and community partners. For meaningful development happens when the entire village participates. We cultivate a community where every voice matters, every contribution is valued, and every partnership enriches the environment in which our children grow.

OUR MISSION

The mission of Mid-Bronx CCRP

The mission of Mid-Bronx CCRP Early Childhood Centers is to provide quality early childhood education in a caring, safe environment for children three to five who attend our Head Start and Child Care programs.

Our programs provide a rich, stimulating environment to meet the mental, physical, social-emotional, and cognitive developmental needs of each child. The goal is to help children develop creative
expression, thinking and planning, problem solving, and socialization skills.

WHAT WE VALUE

  1. A Responsive, Inclusive Environment.
Our center reflects the rich culture and diversity of the community we serve. Children learn in a warm, stimulating environment where differences are celebrated; families feel welcome, and every child feels a sense of belonging.
  1. Dedicated and Growing Staff.
We place great emphasis on selecting educators who truly enjoy working with young children. Our staff actively pursues ongoing professional development through workshops, training, and formal education, ensuring that their practice remains informed, intentional, and rooted in best practices in early childhood education.
  1. Meaningful Parental Participation.
Parents are essential partners in our work. We encourage families to share their talents, experiences, and voices, and in return, we support them in meeting their goals and strengthening the well-being of the entire family. Together, we build bridges of trust and collaboration that elevate each child’s success.
  1. Strong Community Partnerships.
We actively cultivate partnerships with local organizations, agencies, and community leaders. These relationships expand our resources, strengthen our programs, and support our mission of preparing children to grow into responsible, confident global citizens.

Our Values

Inclusion. Advancement. Participation. Partnerships.
